ON THE ISSUES
Protecting our Neighborhoods
As a Chico Police Officer, I know firsthand our community's challenges. Homelessness, needle giveaway programs, state-mandated reductions in criminal penalties are all threats to our quality of life and the safety of our neighborhoods.
I will take my many years of law enforcement experience and work with my fellow Supervisors to pass common-sense proposals to clean up Chico and thwart the encroaching criminal element attempting to take over our city.
Solving our Homeless Crisis
It is not compassionate for our homeless to sleep in public spaces and parks, especially when shelter is available. Chico residents have a right to work, live and shop without being hindered by homeless who refuse to follow the law.
With my experience assisting our city’s homeless, I will work collaboratively with the City of Chico, non-profit and faith-based organizations, to address our homeless issue.
Opposing Needle Exchange Programs
Needle Exchange programs endanger our children who play in our parks. The organizations distributing these needles to drug addicts, neglect to clean them up, littering our parks with dangerous objects.
In my role as a Chico Police Officer, I have witnessed firsthand the ravages of drug addiction and the consequences of needle exchange programs. As a result, I will oppose all needle exchange programs because it makes our city more dangerous and perpetuates the cycle of drug addiction.
Protecting our Water
Water is fundamental to Butte County’s Agriculture Industry. Unfortunately, Sacramento’s poor water policy and neglect in building new water storage have strained our water resources.
I will ensure our water rights are protected while partnering with members from all levels of government to build water storage both above and below ground, including Sites Reservoir. You can also count on me to protect our water from Sacramento special interests and fight their attempts to limit groundwater use.
Supporting our Farmers
Our more than half billion-dollar Ag Industry is a fundamental part of Butte County’s economy. Unfortunately, California farmers are the object of onerous regulations in a state that caters to environmentalists.
As a strong supporter of our local farmers, I will work to ensure our water is protected while creating a business-friendly environment that will lighten the burden on our Ag Industry.
